Lenovo has launched the IdeaPad Lynx K3011 Windows 8 tablet in India for Rs 51,990. Lenovo claims it to be the first ‘Wintel’ (Windows -Intel powered) premium productivity tablet, something which some might be able to dispute, but there is no doubt that it is a premium product that mashes sleek looks with some solid firepower.
It has an 11.6-inch IPS display that has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels, 400 NITS of brightness, and it uses IPS technology which should ensure great viewing angles. It also has a 10-point multitouch panel.
Under the hood, it has a dual-core Intel Atom CloverTrail CPU clocked at 1.8GHz, 2GB of RAM, eMMC storage, twin USB 2.0 ports, a microSD card slot, a microUSB slot, a microHDMI port and a 2.0 megapixel front facing camera.
Lenovo equips it with a full IdeaPad keyboard dock that adds another 8 hours of battery life. The slate on its own can also last for 8 hours according to Lenovo, which would make it quite the roadrunner.
While all this is good, it remains to be seen if this product is a success because Windows 8 based hardware has proven to be a tough sell. That said, considering it runs Windows 8 without the limitations of Windows RT, it might be a decent choice for some.
